Equigy is a dynamic and innovative start-up that a key role in the acceleration of energy transition and the integration of the energy system. With its European crowd balancing platform CBP, Equigy has created a trusted data exchange to enable aggregators to participate with smaller flexibility devices in national ancillary services markets. Owned by leading European transmission system operators, Equigy aims to set cross-industry standards throughout Europe. This way Equigy supports a more future-proof, reliable and cost-effective power system, independent from fossil fuel sources. To date, the joint venture has 5 shareholders consisting of 6 TSO:

· TenneT TSO (The Netherlands)

· Terna (Italy)

· Swissgrid (Switzerland)

· APG (Austria)

· GmbH (Germany) and TransnetBW GmbH (Germany) via the joint venture Flexcess GmbH

We are looking for an inspiring and energetic leader with strong interpersonal skills and in-depth experience in the European energy market. Extending the ecosystem and scaling-up Equigy, developing employees and company spirit whilst ensuring reliable delivery of projects and resilient operations are the key responsibilities of the new CEO/Managing Director.

CE O/Managing Director Resp onsibilities:

• Provide inspired leadership company wide.
• Develop the company’s culture and implement the overall company vision.
• Rollout of the strategy and develop and implement operational policies.
• Manage day-to-day operation of the company from a CEO perspective.
• Act as the primary spokesperson for the company.
• Identify and address risks and opportunities for the company.
• Build alliances and partnerships with other organizations.
• Set up and supervise executing a communication and public affairs strategy
• Responsible with recruiting new staff members and end responsible for the overall Equigy team (efficient and effective).
• Create an environment that promotes great performance and positive morale.
• Oversee the company’s fiscal activity, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing.
• Work with senior stakeholders, chief financial officer and other executives.
• Assure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations.
• Report to the supervisory board and shareholders and keep them informed.

Your profile and background

The CEO/Managing Director profile

• A visionary who is also highly driven to implement and realize the strategy.
• Empathic, inspiring and energetic personality with distinct communication skills.
• Thorough understanding of energy markets and their relevant stakeholders.
• Experience in scale-up and corporate environments.
• International working experience and a valuable international personal network.
• Used to interact and negotiate with senior government representatives and senior management executives.
• 10 year+ experience in a senior management position.
• Proven business development and negotiation skills. Ability to build consensus and relationships among executives, partners, and the workforce.
• Ability to work under pressure, plan personal workload effectively and delegate.
• Bachelor’s degree or master degree in a relevant discipline or MBA.
• Fluent in English.
• Willing to travel.

Contractual termsAssignment for 4 years in line with the provisions of the Joint Venture Agreement of Equigy. The CEO/Managing Director is eligible for re-appointment for further terms. Secondment through shareholder company. Contractual terms, hence, to be negotiated with shareholder company. Starting date asap, to be negotiated. We will offer a market-based salary.
