Sr. Contracts Operations Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

eBay is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our commercial legal team as a Sr. Contracts Operations Manager. This is a strategic and operational role that requires you to be proactive, practical and think strategically about improving processes and practices as well as making sure that the day-to-day processing of contracts works smoothly. You will work closely with legal and business stakeholders at all levels of the company. We are looking for a professional, approachable, upbeat, and a go-to person who is a positive reflection of the Legal team. You will be instrumental in streamlining the day-to-day efficiency and effectiveness of the department as well as our business clients and facilitate meaningful change.

This role manages and supports employees globally which requires flexibility to manage the different time zones. The successful candidate will need to adapt to changing priorities and business needs, must be proactive in identifying areas of need and generating and follow through on action plans. This role is a critical and essential part of the commercial contracts team.

This position requires strong operational and technical experience and able to exercise independent judgment and initiative. It is located in the Salt Lake City area working a hybrid model of 3 days in office a week with the following responsibilities:

• Drive ongoing success leading the global contract admin team based in San Jose, Salt Lake City, Bern, Singapore, and India.
• Strong experience in developing, implementing, and using legal department technology solutions (e.g., contract management systems, DocuSign, Tableau, and similar)
• Lead and proactively identify operational efficiency projects to continually improve global practices
• Oversee and develop reporting and dashboards for key operational metrics and analyze results to understand current trends and take appropriate action.
• Ownership and upkeep of playbooks, guides, and training materials
• Key point of contact for Legal and the business related to the contracts workflow
• Ability to interact appropriately and skillfully with senior level executives within and outside the company
• Communicate with and oversee related training for internal business clients and attorneys
• Regularly liaise with external teams like IT, Procurement, Risk Management, Privacy, and InfoSec to align on policies, integrations, and processes affecting the contracts team
• Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding contract administration.
• Special project management as necessary

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s in a business related field is desired
• 5+ years of experience with legal project operations, team leadership, systems management, and in a global in-house role
• Direct experience with a contracts management system, developing playbooks, policies, and reporting
• Demonstrated ability to independently move projects forward by gaining the support needed from others while working in a cross-functional role
• Outstanding organizational skills with exceptional follow through, be comfortable making decisions, ability to prioritize, adhere to deadlines and multi-task.
• Must demonstrate a sense of urgency and ownership to drive issues and tasks to completion
• Ability to be effective and efficient in a fast-changing environment
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Extensive understanding of MS Office suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
• Must be self-motivated with a desire and drive to continuously learn and grow as a professional and as an individual
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and successfully manage multiple deadlines
• Sense of humor, desire to have fun. You will be a great teammate

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.

$144,000 - $216,150

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
