The Scotch Governance Team is comprised of Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality, Risk & Assurance functions, and our mission is to lead Scotch Governance with integrity; partnering growth and delivering world class reputation. This role is based at Diageo’s Shieldhall packaging site. Shieldhall packages a huge volume of Scotch malt whiskies, white spirits and ready to drink brands to supply over 170 countries around the world and is a key manufacturing site within the Scotch supply category.
About the Role
As the Material Quality and Assurance Manager, you'll be at the forefront of our dedication to excellence. Reporting to the Scotch Category Governance Manager and being an integral part of both the Quality and wider Governance teams, you'll have the chance to have a significant impact on our operations. You will lead a team of 12 assurance and quality professionals.
Your responsibilities will span various areas, including but not limited to Material Quality, product quality, food safety, and compliance with ISO and Global Risk Management Standards (GRMS). You'll be a key player in our risk and Assurance efforts, covering everything from UK Duty requirements to security protocols.
You'll drive Quality and Assurance agenda on site to ensure improved site performance against all Quality & Assurance metrics and deliver site strategy goal of 100% compliance in all areas. Your efforts will contribute to fostering a positive quality culture, promoting a "right first time" approach through employee engagement, awareness, assessment, and training.
Your role will extend beyond our Shieldhall site, as you collaborate with the broader Diageo Governance community and participate in the Global Quality Forum.
About You
We are looking for a Material Quality manager with a background in team leadership ideally within the food and drinks packaging industry and an experience of assurance / compliance requirements generally.
You will excel as a leader, possessing strong communication skills. You will have proactive structured promlem-solving skills learnt through exposure to DMAIC, Lean, Six Sigma, TPM and Manufacturing Excellence.
