In our Quality Assurance Team based in Trier/Germany is one open position as Quality Assurance Manager(m/f/d)for Product Standards to fill.

How will you make an impact?

As a member of the Quality AssuranceProduct Standards Team, you will be responsible for the group-wide development of quality standards and programs for our smokeless tobacco products such as Snus and Heated Tobacco Sticks, as well as conventional tobacco products such as cigarettes or roll-your-own tobacco. The development includes the alignment and implementation with relevant stakeholders as well as driving continues improvement activities to ensure product quality and consumer satisfaction. Further you will be responsible for the development and implementation of Quality Management System (QMS) policies & procedures relevant for Product design activities. In addition, you will perform audits to validate the compliance of our product development teams to the defined QMS requirements.

You will get the opportunity to take one of the key roles in our team and experience strong cross-functional cooperation and engagement across the Japan Tobacco Group.

What will you do:

  • New Product Developments – Lead QA activities in New Product Development projects and collaborate with the teams in QA, Product Development, and other relevant functions to e.g perform product and process risk assessment, define Quality Standards and validate product performance
  • Product Quality Standards & Programs – Lead the establishment and improvement of quality standards and programs for Japan Tobacco Group products to assure product compliance with regulatory and company quality requirements including the alignment with relevant stakeholders. Provide recommendations for identified quality issues and continuous improvement of product quality
  • Quality Management System – Develop, maintain & improve policies & procedures related to global product development activities and implement the global requirements with Product Development Teams
  • Audits – Conduct periodical audits with Product Development Teams to validate adherence to the QMS requirements & identify improvement areas including CAPA follow-up

The successful candidate brings:

  • University degree in technical/scientific field, e.g. Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Engineering or Food Technology or comparable course of study
  • Minimum 5 years of business practice preferably in the tobacco industry (QA/R&D/GSC/New Product Development) or FMCG industry (e.g. Food/Pharma/Cosmetics)
  • Excellent knowledge in Quality Assurance and quality management
  • Profound project management skills
  • Very good conceptional, organizational and coordination skills
  • Strong analytical skills and comprehensive knowledge of data analysis techniques & statistics
  • Sovereignty when dealing with internal and external partners
  • Ability to work effectively in a diversified team and in an international environment
  • Willingness to travel internationally occasionally
  • Fluent in English both written and spoken; other languages are of advantage
  • Excellent knowledge in MS Office (especially MS PowerPoint & Excel), including experience in SAP R/3
