Job Description
The Specialist will be responsible for barrier-free Customs and Trade Facilitation (CTF) operations and controls. As part of this role, the Specialist will execute and develop localized Customs operational trade compliance procedures and guidelines to assure compliance with Import regulations in EMEA Countries. The Specialist will define opportunities and implement programs that support Customs regulatory and business changes-executing self-check and region Import risk assessments, corrective action plans, and providing content expertise in strategic projects that affect the supply chain to ensure proper/advantageous structuring of Import transactions.
This specialist has customs compliance technical knowledge and is proficient with customs and other import regulations. This role will define opportunities and drive country-specific Import compliance requirements for the organization and ensure that commodities consistently and effectively meet the needs to import at the destination countries-leverage on industry associations and government relationships to minimize Import issues and drive impactful procedural and regulatory solutions. The specialist is responsible for the day-to-day activities and independently develops innovative long-term solutions to complex Import problems, makes timely informed decisions, and is aware of the impact on others. The specialist should navigate Customs issues and obstacles, solve problems and take the initiative to try new solutions, owning and role-modeling Intel's Trade Organization disciplines and charters.
Responsibilities
Create, implement, and administer country customs policy and standard operating procedures to expedite cross border transactions while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Identify and maximize duty optimization opportunities, develop policy and implement procedures in partnership with key stakeholders e.g. tariff engineering, free trade agreements.
Monitor and interpret changes in country Customs and other cross border government agency regulations, assess impact to business, and develop strategies to address findings.
Ensure valuation, classification, origin and all Customs requirements are fully satisfied to expedite cross border movements and ensure compliance.
Management and oversight of Customs brokers, agents, and service providers to ensure adherence to service agreements and compliance obligations.
Act as subject matter expert to address shipment specific issue management and escalation as required.
Ensure appropriate coordination and consultation with local resources, business units, and other related stakeholders to support site level requirements.
Champion the implementation, management, and expansion of Trade Security Programs in the country such as AEO.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree and or prolonged course of study in a business or job-related field or equivalent experience
5+ years experience in customs and trade facilitation
Strong understanding of DE customs regulations and processes
Experience communicating with government trade regulators and senior business leaders
Strong working knowledge of Broker Management
Strong expertise in other government agencies' compliance
Problem-solving aptitude with attention to detail and outstanding organizational ability
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Key Relationships
Internal: Logistics, Trade Legal Counsel, Finance, Site Ops. On-site BU's.
External: Customs Brokers, transportation providers, FTZ Authorities, and Customs

This temporary job is hired as a backup for an employee on sick leave and is limited to 6-24 months.

Working Model
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
