Assistant Manager, Financial Control – AXA International Markets is expected to contribute to the Asian entities under AXA International Markets (currently Thailand, Indonesia and Philippines) by:

  • Analyze and comment on the financial and business performance on a regular basis, focusing on key financial KPIs, including Revenue, earnings, new business sales and P&L analysis, etc.

  • Participate in the preparation of regular reports covering financial and business performance KPIs, perform analytical review of the key KPIs as well as maintain and enhance working files and tools / propose improvements for the analysis.

  • Provide benchmarking analysis with external competitors, and ad hoc analysis on business and financial topics.

  • Assist the Performance manager on requests linked to business monitoring, including new requests from Group or AXA IMa management. Identify, facilitate, and implement process improvement ideas to enhance controls, quality, and efficiency.  

  • Define regional timetables and instructions on financial and business performance monitoring, ensuring entities adhere to them.

  • Review and validate new accounting treatments with AXA Group expertise teams and support local entities on AXA IFRS standards.

  • Serve as the key point of contact for all financial and strategic discussions related to the entities in scope and ensure effective coordination and communication with entities and other relevant regional functions.

Your Profile

Candidate for an Assistant Manager position is expected to demonstrate a sense of business acumen. He / She should have financial background but also have the capacity to understand the strategy of the entities and contribute to the improvement of the performance of the entities.

Background and experience:

  • Master’s degree or University in Finance, Audit & Accounting, or Actuarial

  • Over 3 years of work experience within financial services industry, preferably as Financial Controller / auditor in insurance industry

  • Good knowledge in IFRS/ Insurance principles

  • Fluent in English

Technical and professional skills:

  • Good understanding of the insurance industry, preferable to know Life, Health and P&C

  • Good understanding of finance and reporting principles, notably accounting and consolidation principles / standards and actuarial practices

  • Good knowledge of MS Excel and Powerpoint, knowledge of Magnitude (SAP Financial consolidation tool) will be an advantage,

  • Organized, structured & proactive, ability to work with autonomy

  • Good inter-cultural skills, ability to work in international environment

  • Good networking, ability to quickly build an effective and trust-based relationship with all entities & Group correspondents

  • Curious, proactive, reactive with a good business sense

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work under tight deadline

  • Open to change and be flexible

  • Good team player.
