Quality Manager

About the Role

Provides leadership for Quality Systems. Responsible for advanced quality planning, supplier quality assurance, testing laboratories, customer complaints, product submission, and the implementation of lean techniques. Supervises personnel who have continuous interactions with customers, product design. Takes a leadership role in ISO 9001/2000 and ISO 17025 compliance. Directs, implements, and maintains operational-level strategies and objectives and monitors performance against plan. Manages, monitors and controls material, labor, and overhead costs in respective area. Develops, reviews, and maintains budgets and expenses for department. Maintains appropriate level of staff support necessary to meet business goals and objectives. As a member of the Operations Team, actively leads and influences efforts to improve product quality and process capability. Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.

Your Responsibilities

1. Provides leadership and direction for all members involved in Quality Systems support and coordinates the team’s efforts with other support areas.
2. Directs, implements, and maintains operational-level strategies and objectives. Develops short to moderate-term goals and translates them into short-term plans in support of operational goals and objectives. Monitors performance against plan and ensures that goals are met.
3. Maintains contact with customers, suppliers, manufacturing, and support resources to ensure that Quality Assurance systems are meeting objectives and continuously improving.
4. Manages, monitors and controls material, labor, and overhead costs in respective area. Develops, reviews, and maintains budgets and expenses for department.
5. Maintains appropriate level of staff support necessary to meet business goals and objectives. Monitors productivity of groups and individuals, recommends changes where desirable. Provides leadership and support to staff to assist employees with skill development. Develops team-based organization focused on goals and objectives.
6. Leads the effort to internalize quality systems that meet or exceed ISO9001/2000 and ISO 17025 Standards both.
7. Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives. Ensures that facilities are in full compliance with all safety regulations.
8. Directs, promotes and reviews programs relating to safety, quality and productivity in the division and recommends changes where desirable . Performs regular workplace inspections and monitors compliance with all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
9. Assists in development and implementation of quality procedures, work instructions and standards. Understands Magna Mirrors Holland’s quality policy and assures compliance with ISO/IATF systems.

Who we are looking for

Your preferred qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physical science, or quality control.
2. Ten years diverse professional and managerial experience including financial/budget responsibility, management leadership, and strategic decision making/leadership in a manufacturing environment.
3. Demonstrated employee relationship and management skills to develop, lead, support, and motivate a cohesive, world-class quality assurance team.
4. Demonstrated strong communication skills to work with internal and external contacts at all levels within the organization. Able to represent the company in a professional manner with customers and suppliers.
