As an Procurement Specialist for Electrification Business Area in Shinagawa, Japan, you will be responsible for implementing effective supply chain strategies in line with business strategy to ensure that suppliers have the capability and capacity to meet current and future business requirements.The local legal entity of this position is ABB K.K.

Your responsibilities
- Supporting to designs and implements plans for local sourcing to reach the business targets and Supports regional and global sourcing initiatives as required
- Applying and implementing PL standards, tools and processes in the area of responsibility to secure quality, delivery, cost and sustainability
- Applying standards on health, safety, environment and business ethics within operational work, contract management and negotiations
- Building and developing a network of key suppliers and integration partners while implementing effective sourcing strategies in line with the Business strategies
- Managing directly with the suppliers for each project the ordering, quality satisfaction and on time delivery, together with local dedicated execution team
- Managing the planning and tracking of procurement activities, cost budgets, minimize risk regarding quality and financial exposure by buying in accordance with quality and commercial procedures and in accordance with Company guidelines
- Negotiating terms and conditions for goods and services purchased throughout the value chain, considering different purchasing scenarios
- Overseeing planning and logistics of incoming materials and services based on the Procurement Plan and project schedule. Updating the Procurement Plan on a regular basis and ensure sufficient stock and inventory management
- Defining and establishing local standard agreements with all major local suppliers. Provides and maintains standard terms in purchase contracts/terms and conditions in line with Company directives and guidelines
Your background
- Bachelor or master degree in engineering, economics, logistics, or SCM area
- Min. 5 years of supply chain management experience, experience in the electric equipment industry would be preferred
- Excellent knowledge in sourcing methods; supplier relationship management, contract negotiation, analytical skills and legal/contractual knowledge
- Responsibility, communication skills, resistance to stress and time flexibility, organizational skills
- Management level communication skills
- Demonstrated experience working in cross-functional teams, in multicultural and international environment
- Flexibility in travelling within the specified area/country
- Fluency in English language both in written and oral
- JLPT N1 level in Japanese
