Health, Safety and Environment Specialist

This role contributes to improving health, Safety and Environment (HSE) performance, helping the organization to deliver a high-performing culture through clear accountability and a skilled organization in the Robotics & Discrete Automation Service & Digital Platform based in CABA, Argentina. You will lead by example, applying your in-depth HSE knowledge to provide solutions and advice to address a variety of issues. You will drive behavioral change through implementing the Group-wide system, training, and providing assistance from the Center of Expertise.

Your responsibilities

• Facilitates HSE risk assessment conducted by the line management and ensures all necessary preventive measures against the identified hazards are implemented.
• Reports HSE incidents to the management and relevant stakeholders and takes appropriate actions.
• Facilitates, assists, and provides guidance on incident investigations to learn better ways for mitigating risks.
• Provides feedback to the management and employees on lessons learned and best practices from within their own unit and across ABB.
• Supports the HSE Manager in reporting progress with respect to the implementation of the group-level HSE objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), as required.
• Assists the line managers and supervisors in understanding their obligations, liabilities, and requirements for role fulfillment, as per local HSE laws and group/business-specific requirements.
• Supports and drives behavioral change through the local implementation of group-wide and business-specific performance improvement programs and practices.
• Supports and embeds an exemplary health and safety culture with a strong focus on the environment across their respective organization.
• Ensures that the appropriate HSE-related equipment and tools are available and used effectively.
• Contributes to and/or plans and executes HSE related projects.
• Develops project objectives and reports the progress to management.

Your background

• Bachelor´s Degree in Safety and Health.
• +2 years of experience working in similar position.
• Experience in the area managing HSE procedures in complex structures.
• Current professional license.
• Availability to travel (approx 20 % of time per month).
• Advanced level of English.
