The Evotec DS Germany GmbH production site in Halle, Westphalia has been part of Evotec since November 2022. Here, APIs and intermediates have been manufactured under GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) for the pharmaceutical and other chemical industries for over 20 years.

Safety Specialist - Chemicals & Environment (all genders)

Full-time and permanent

Your tasks

• Coordination and development of occupational safety, health protection, fire protection and environmental issues at the site in close coordination with the headquarters
• Knowledge of EU & German occupational health & safety, safety and environmental regulations
• Development, implementation and monitoring of process safety strategies and guidelines in accordance with company standards
• Preparation of reports and recommendations for the management for the continuous optimization of process safety
• Independent monitoring of legal requirements from chemicals legislation and their operational implementation (in particular REACH and GHS/CLP)
• Independent maintenance of existing REACH authorizations and coordination of test plans and determination of content in REACH dossiers
• Implementation of employee training on occupational safety and fire protection
• Further development of the safety and quality culture in the plant
• Collaboration with various global departments to integrate safety-related requirements into existing processes
• Continuous improvement and support of line managers in the areas of occupational safety, fire protection and plant safety as well as health and environmental protection

*These tasks relate to the Halle (NRW) site and require occasional travel

Your profile

• Completed studies in chemical engineering, process engineering or a similar field of study
• Several years of relevant practical work experience in the field of process safety, ideally in the chemical or petrochemical industry
• Experience in project management
• Strong understanding of safety-related processes and their implementation in practice
• Ideally additional qualification in the field of management systems
• Independent, structured and autonomous working style
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Moderation skills and strong communication skills
• Winning demeanor, assertiveness and a high level of motivation
• Willingness to travel occasionally
• Very good written and spoken English skills
• Certification as a specialist for occupational safety and fire protection or willingness to become one
