You will be working as Technical Product Manager and will be part of Process Automation Business Area for Energy Industries Division based in Bangalore, India. In this role you will be reporting to Chief Data Officer and you will be responsible for acting as a systems thinker and a bridge between identifying the functional product requirements and the corresponding ways to build and competitively position the software modules, applications, sub systems and platforms. Responsible for translating the product roadmap into actionable steps to develop platform component or individual application in collaboration with software engineers, designers, developers and architects.
Your responsibilities
- Defining and owning the product strategy for data products, aligned with the company's vision and business goals. Creating and maintaining a product roadmap, prioritizing features and enhancements based on market research and customer feedback. Continuously monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation
- Eliciting, documenting and prioritizing product requirements, user stories and use cases. Collaborating with stakeholders, customers and engineering teams to ensure a clear understanding of product requirements
- Working closely with design, development and quality assurance teams to ensure the successful delivery of data products. Serving as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams, facilitating effective communication and coordination
- Ensuring close collaboration with software development, architects, UX, software quality assurance, software testing, devops, cybersecurity and project management teams to achieve release milestones. Collaborating with the product owner and the scrum master to ensure and balance the value or quality vs implementation size, time or cost
- Overseeing the product development lifecycle, from concept to release. Defining and maintaining project schedules, track progress and ensure timely delivery. Ensuring customer and stakeholder expectations are being met through regular iterative and incremental releases while carefully balancing resources and prioritization
- Conducting user acceptance testing and quality assurance to ensure the product meets quality and performance standards
- Identifying opportunities for improving existing data products and gather feedback from users to drive continuous product enhancements. Prioritizing and managing feature requests and bug fixes. Ensuring customer and stakeholder expectations are being met through regular iterative and incremental releases while carefully balancing resources and prioritization
- Contributing to the IP creation through identifying and categorizing different user personas for the platform and applications. Identifying potential technical IP risks and the corresponding ways to mitigate them. Ensuring compliance with ABB’s integrity, data privacy, GDPR, safety standards and the core values of ABB in the assigned area
Your background
- Bachelor's degree or masters degree in engineering
- Minimum 9 to 14 years of experience in data analytics and visualization tools like spotfire, power BI and product and project management skills
- Experience as a Technical Product Manager, preferably in the development of data products with strong technical background, including experience with data analytics, data visualization
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with analytical mindset and data-driven decision-making
- Experience with agile or scrum methodologies is a plus. Knowledge of data privacy and security best practices
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
