Your contribution to TenneT

The Sub Project Lead (SPL) is in charge to supervise delivery by the contractor of the Automation and SCADA scope of grid connection systems IJmuiden Ver, in accordance with all relevant TenneT requirements, contractual obligations and all relevant rules and regulations. Furthermore the SPL shall support realization of the goals of the TenneT overarching 2 GW program up to the handover of grid connection systems to the later system operator. The SPL will coordinate and cooperate closely with the overall project team and is responsible for the achievement of the goals (including SHE, time, quality and costs) for the Automation-SCADA sub-project. As Sub Project Lead Automation you are reporting to Project Lead HVDC.

The area of responsibility is to oversee Automation, Network and Operational Support Systems for the HVDC Platforms and the land stations, taking into account the sub-project goals.

Tasks and responsibilities also include:

• The planning of project execution, evaluate expertise needed and to set up and manage a dedicated team of experts.
• Manage and motivate the consortium/contractor to deliver the quality required, within the agreed timelines.
• Act as a central contact person for assigned stakeholders with regard to the affected systems.
• Responsible for the timely ordering and delivery of supplies as well as the identification of interfaces to other trades, which are to be coordinated and operated.
• Provision of all necessary information for forward-looking scheduling, document management and active management of risks and opportunities, including reports on sub-project progress, costs and risks.
• Aligning with experts and teams within Offshore and various other departments within TenneT, taking into account lessons learned from other large projects.
• Active contribution to a safe working environment for yourself, your colleagues and contractors.

Your profile and background

• Bachelor degree in the field of Electrical Engineering, Automation or comparable.
• Experience in the management of complex infrastructure projects.
• Relevant (minimum 5 years) professional experience and in-depth technical knowledge in the field of automation for complex industry, utility and/or offshore plants.
• Excellent communication, cooperation and influencing skills and are able to challenge and motivate both the contractor team as your own team.
• Team-player, persuasive, sensitive, aware of your stakeholders and capable of balanced judgment.
• Participate in offshore activities; valid offshore certificates are an advantage.
• You are fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Willingness to travel, also to manufacturers, yards and offshore deployments, lasting several days (within Europe and Asia), up to 20% of your time.

Large Projects Offshore is a key contributor to the energy transition. The Unit is responsible for the current and future development of the offshore grid as a whole and subsequently for the development and realization of the DC interconnectors and the Offshore Wind Farm grid connections in both the German and Dutch sectors of the North Sea.

• Salary for this position is in grade 9, between € 4.369,- and € 8.594- gross based on a fulltime position
• The weekly working time is 40 hours
• Type of contract is indefinite
