Risk Analyst - Recovery Planning (M/F/X)

The Chief Risk Office (CRO) function strives to protect the Bank’s capital, integrity & reputation through provision of a robust risk management framework & supporting infrastructure.

Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is a cross-risk function, spanning all businesses and geographies, shaping the bank’s risk framework, delivering against regulatory expectations and driving active and dynamic portfolio management.

Recovery Planning is the global regulatory response to protect the global economy and financial system from the potential default of global, systemically important financial institutions, such as Deutsche Bank.

The Recovery Planning team, within the ERM function, is responsible for developing and overseeing DB’s recovery planning framework. This includes the annual update and regulatory submission of DB’s Group recovery plan. Significant progress has been made in response to the regulatory requirements and a new joiner to the team can look forward to working on a range of high focus strategic issues to further develop and embed DB’s recovery programme. In addition, the new joiner will develop a strong overview of DB’s operational, organisational and financial structure, as well as establish a large professional network across the bank.

This role presents the opportunity to work in a diverse team in Berlin, across all of DB’s business divisions and infrastructure functions and engage with various stakeholders across different levels of seniority globally.

Responsibilities:

• Support the coordination and further development of Deutsche Bank’s Group recovery plan

• Monitor and analyse DB’s countermeasure capacity incl. second line of defence challenge of assumptions

• Regularly monitor DB’s recovery indicator framework incl. escalation of breaches to senior management

• Prepare senior management presentations on recovery planning including to DB’s Management Board and Group Risk Committee

• Monitor and analyse updates of relevant regulatory guidelines

• Participate in ongoing and ad hoc recovery projects and initiatives

Requirements

Education and Experience:

• Relevant university degree (Master)

• Experience in recovery planning or other ERM-related tasks beneficial, but not required

• Experience in dealing with regulatory topics beneficial, but not required

Competencies:

• Very strong analytical and reporting skills: ability to produce quality management reports and analysis with a high attention to detail

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

• Demonstrable project management skills: confident in handling a large number of tasks, maintaining large information sets, and meeting timely deliveries

• Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills

• Interest in European banking regulation
