In this role, you will inspect and test parts, components and products from EMEA suppliers, ensuring that only compliant items are received and subsequently delivered to customers.You will also be responsible for evaluating the quality process of suppliers and subcontractors, taking corrective and preventive action according to their maturity and performance levels.You will report to the Production Engineering Manager.
Your responsibilities
- Carry out internal checks (workshop, reception) as well as external checks at EMEA suppliers and subcontractors in France and abroad to ensure that equipment received complies with technical specifications and drawings.
- Carry out dimensional or functional checks according to defined protocols to determine compliance with requirements.
- Participate in defining quality inspection requirements in conjunction with the relevant design offices.
- Collect test reports, certificates and inspection reports, and file them in the dedicated quality database.
- In the event of non-conformity, participate in the definition of corrective actions to be implemented in conjunction with the purchasing department and the supplier concerned.
- Collaborate with the purchasing department to prepare claims files where necessary.
- Apply Safety, Health and Environment requirements and procedures, and report actual and potential risks to line management.
- Act as a driving force in health, safety and environmental matters within its area of responsibility.
Your background
- At least 3 years' experience as a technician.
- Knowledge of mechanics, electricity and electronics.
- Current use of measurement and test equipment.
- English: read, spoken and written. Fluent French is a must.
- No obstacles to travel: in France and abroad (1 travel/month).
- Ability to direct one's own development path by seeking out training opportunities that will enable you to progress in your role.
- Respect for collaboration objectives in order to maximize the results for ABB.
- Strong awareness of Health, Safety and Security rules: HSE is everyone's business.
