Your role
Reporting into the Director of People and Culture, you will be a strategic partner in developing and enhancing our people's potential. You will anticipate needs, devise plans for the future, and align our people strategy with our business goals.
Your key responsibilities:
Support the Director of People and Culture in developing and fulfilling a people strategy that is aligned with the organisation's strategic objectives
Manage a small team of People partners and coordinators/advisors
Lead and oversee the implementation of strategic people initiatives, ensuring they are executed effectively and in a timely manner, e.g. a yearly engagement survey
Drive a proactive approach to people management, actively identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing solutions
Consult and advise on strategic workforce planning, talent management, leadership development, and employee engagement initiatives
Analyse trends and metrics in partnership with the People team to develop solutions, programs, and policies
Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues and conduct effective, fair, and objective investigations where required
Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g. coaching, counselling, career development, performance improvement)
Maintain an awareness of the latest trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law, applying this knowledge to internal policy and practice
Manage the pay review and bonus process for the organisation
Commercial management of the HR budgets
Deputise for the Director of People & Culture where appropriate
Contribute towards the Making a Difference pillars (DEI, literacy, sustainability) and set an example to your team.
Essential experience and knowledge you’ll need to succeed:
A positive, strategic and hands-on approach to problem-solving and decision-making
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Accomplished relationship building skills
Proficient knowledge of employment law and regulations
Solid experience with HR metrics and analysis of HR data
Experience in conflict resolution, disciplinary processes and workplace investigations
Excellent leadership and people management skills
Demonstrated competency in strategic human resource practices
Ability to work on many projects at the same time and meet deadlines
The ideal candidate will have substantial HR experience, preferably in a strategic role within the media industry.

This is a full time, permanent, and will be based in our offices in Farringdon, London, with some flexibility to work from home each week.
