Job Overview:
The Head of Marketing for Germany & Austria will support the Market Leader, his leadership group, and in particular the Partner responsible for Marketing, in increasing our brand awareness and commercial impact and overall marketing ROI. The Head of Marketing will be a thought leader, challenger, and supporter to the Germany & Austria Partner group. They will be able to leverage a deep understanding of the business and of professional services’ key marketing levers, aligning recommendations with firm, regional, and market strategies and priorities, ensuring integration and collaboration with key Oliver Wyman functions, industries and capabilities, and being accountable for delivering results according to an agreed upon Marketing Plan and key metrics of success. To do so requires leveraging Marketing best practices, data, discipline, talent, and culture, and collaborating closely with the global marketing team and other business functions.
The candidate will work closely with the Market team in setting and executing the marketing strategy for the markets, regularly communicating progress, as well as seeking input directly from internal and external clients. The Head of Marketing will oversee the local marketing team and budget and be accountable for the career development and growth of their direct reports
We’re looking for a self-motivated team player who is energized to roll up their sleeves and drive the firm’s further growth in the market by developing, executing and leading comprehensive campaigns that increase our brand profile. This role has a dual reporting to the Head of Marketing, Europe and to the Market Leader Germany & Austria, working closely with the global marketing team.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a trusted advisor to the leadership team in Germany & Austria advising on marketing strategy, content agenda, messaging, output formats and channel use
Prepare and lead the delivery of annual marketing plans and budgets, leveraging global and local campaigns and content to earn relevance at a regional level as well as creating and maintaining a repository of fresh content for communications
Innovator mindset and creativity – Proven track record of creating next generation marketing programmes, thinking out of the box to take marketing to the next level
Coach, guide, and assist senior colleagues in developing their profiles in the marketplace
Leverage a strong network of thought-leaders, journalists, and editors at major publications, think tanks, and academia in the market
Use analytics and establish feedback mechanisms to measure effectiveness of marketing and communications initiatives and to set targets
Lead and develop a high-performing, expert marketing team in Germany & Austria
Experience Required:
Proven marketing expertise – Proven track record in building brand and commercial opportunities through focus and alignment with business priorities, convening communities that matter, executing an agile marketing operation to be responsive to fast paced news cycle, and engaging key clients with high quality content and events that resonate
Collaborator – Ability to work closely with leadership and integrated functions that affect Marketing’s ability to deliver impact
Strong analytical and planning skills to assess the performance of our marketing and communications efforts. Understand and talk about the impact of our content creation
Strong interpersonal and communication skills – ability to connect with the colleagues across all levels throughout the organization
Trustworthiness and empathy – Considered a role model in building trust-based relationships across the firm and having strong EQ
10+ years proven track record of planning and delivering integrated marketing campaigns, delivering the full marketing mix including communications, events, as well as traditional and digital media channels
Native speaker level German and fluent English
