The Role:
The past two years the Salon EMEA FP&A department has gone through a real transformation. In 2020 and 2021 we built the new structure of Salon FP&A and stabilized the activities. In 2022 the goal has been set to shift the department to the next level. This implies:
- Focusing on key responsibilities
- Bringing consistency and efficiency across the EMEA region
- Standardize and harmonize the processes
- Standardize local reporting
- Providing better management information
- Aligning with regional commercial sales and planning
- Benchmarking in EMEA region
In order to offer a stronger service to the business at EMEA, a new team has been appointed to support the DACH & Export business on Finance Planning and Analysis, which will be under the umbrella of Salon FP&A EMEA and reporting into the Associate Director FP&A Salon. DACH & Export (Germany, Austria,Switzerland and the Distributor Business in EMEA) is the biggest region within Salon.
The Senior FP&A Analyst (m/w/d) DACH & Export is a key role in the financial planning, reporting and analysis, to provide useful insights in the Salon P&L and a key financial support to the DACH & Export Salon business and the various departments. The role will report into the Lead of FP&A DACH&Export Team.
The Analyst will have contact with various departments in the organization, providing analysis and advice to the business and management, far beyond “controlling by numbers”.
The main activities of the Senior FP&A Analyst (m/w/d) are described below:
Planning, budgeting and forecasting
- Own and manage the P&L in conjunction with the FP&A Lead of DACH&Export
- Preparation and execution of the forecasting and budgeting process.
- Work with budget holders to ensure they understand the financial information they are sent
Performance Management & Measurement
- Coordinate monthly, quarterly and year-end closing management accounts
- Produce managerial reports to support the achievement of organizational objectives
- Develop and improve reports for various analysis purposes
Business Decision Support
- Work close with the FP&A Lead of DACH&Export acting as management navigator, challenging and contributing to the decision making to achieve the budget
- Make recommendations to the business based on analysis, discussion and advise of the impact to the business
- Under direction from the FP&A Lead of DACH&Export produce ad-hoc information for the management team
Other
- Further assist with standardization and automation of the finance processes for the EMEA Salon region
- Be a liaison between business and FSSC (financial shared service center)
- Assist with identified projects in Salon EMEA
- Work in close collaboration with the FSSC and with reporting & consolidation team
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration or equivalent
- Accounting knowledge
- Educated to degree level ideally in an analytical discipline
- several years of experience in Finance
- First-hand experience of management accounts planning, budgeting and forecasting
- Ideally FMCG experience (in a strongly branded, product led innovation and consumer/customer insight driven organization)
- Experience of working in a matrix environment with international exposure and working across functions
- Strong financial business analysis skills and working affinity with end-to-end processes and risk and control frameworks
- Advanced IT skills (Excel, SAP, BI, BPC)
- Fluency in English and good German language skills

- Excellent communication skills to build relationships with a wide range of individuals to manage their expectations
