You will drive the development of functional and safety-related software modules for next-generation of robotic systems. This position reports to
R&D Team Lead
Your responsibilities
- Work in an agile team of Software Developers in local and international R&D teams to continuously deliver on new product objectives
- Develop software for the next generation of safe, user-friendly collaborative robots in ABB's portfolio
- Write real time-critical embedded software for the next generation of industrial networks and fieldbuses
- Work primarily with C, C ++, Python and play an important role in the development of our future robotic products
- Be part of the entire Software development lifecycle, from design and implementation to testing and delivery to stakeholders
- Contribute to functionally safe software development following ISO 13849 and IEC 61508
- Assist in architecture, specification and documentation at System and Software level
- Collaborate effectively with other Software Engineers, Electronics Engineers, User Experience experts, Product Owners and other stakeholders
- Provide guidance to colleagues and junior team members, acting as a mentor and sharing lessons learned
Your background
- You have a master's degree with a background in software development from your studies and previous work
- You have at least three years experienced of working with real time systems on limited hardware resources or other systems with high demands for robust performance
- As a Software Developer you have at least three years of experience in unit and component level testing and have competence in C and C++
- Experience in Ethernet-based fieldbuses (EtherCAT) and networking standards (TSN) is considered valuable
- Experience in safety certified development is advantageous
- You are a team player with a positive mindset who enjoys sharing knowledge and ideas
- You possess an all-round understanding of modern embedded software applications, architectures and relevant constraints
- Fluency in English, written and spoken alike; basic knowledge of German would be desirable
