What you can expect:
- Key support to the management accountant on all Retail Finance related matters. providing regular updates on discrepancies and highlighting any issues.
- Responsibility for weekly & monthly Retail Finance reporting and sent to the retail management team.
- Ensuring all Retail Finance related paperwork and records are maintained.
- Responsible for all Retail Finance presentations and training where required by Retail Operations, including new managers inductions and conferences.
- Key support to the management accountant on all concession store related matters, including reconciliations and weekly sales checks.
- Maintenance and continuous improvement of all Retail Finance activities, including policies and procedures.
- Drive transition with the loss prevention team
- Creation and logging of business to business invoices with out retail partners and ad hoc store requests.
The position will continue to look after a portfolio of retail stores for any banking related tasks / queries, including the following:
- Reconciliation of daily sales transactions to the bank account postings for each of the main tender types
- Investigating and resolving any discrepancies where possible which includes journals where the incorrect tender type has been used
- Detailing any remaining variances between the till system and the bank statement onto a cash variance tracker sheet for review by the Management Accountant and Head of Retail
- Notifying Area Managers of any cash variances immediately for further investigation in store as well as instructing the bank and cash collection company to investigate where necessary
- Checking of store paperwork to ensure they are in compliance with the Hugo Boss Store Procedures Manual
- Review of store refunds to ensure they are valid and have been issued in compliance with the Hugo Boss Store Procedures Manual
- Completing relevant form to order new banking books as and when required
- Ad-hoc tasks
Your profile:
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, with all levels within the company
- Enthusiastic, self-confident and self-motivated
- Pays close attention to detail, accuracy and is very analytical
- Willing to adapt and take on new challenges and driven to continually improve
- Professionalism is maintained at all times
- Able to handle multiple demands and competing priorities successfully
- Work effectively and efficiently with the ability to establish credibility
Preferred experience/skills
- Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous but not essential if you have a good eye for numbers and are keen to learn.
- A general understanding of double entry bookkeeping, and of the completion of a bank reconciliation would be advantageous.
- Previous retail experience
- An understanding of retail processes e.g. till processes /refunds
- Basic Microsoft excel
- Experience in SAP would be preferable
