The Manager, General Accounting manages the HUGO BOSS subgroup in the US, as well as the entity in Canada, with the preparation of the day-to-day accounting activities. You will be responsible for ensuring the compliance with accounting guidelines and act as a business partner to improve the quality of the financial close. Additionally, you will be responsible for coordinating and executing financial audits (e.g. year-end audits).
The Manager General Accounting will work closely with related Finance teams (Accounts Payables & Treasury, Credit and Tax department), Financial Analysis & Planning, Legal and Business departments. The position is based in our corporate office in New York City.
What you can expect:
Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:
- Manage and responsible for all Accounting responsibilities for HB USA and HB Canada
- Manage and responsible for all Audits for HB USA and HB Canada
- Manage to ensure all accounting responsibilities are performed on a timely and accurate manner
- Manage to ensure our financial statements are accurately represented at all times
- Manage to prepare monthly workpapers and reconciliation for all Balance Sheet accounts
- Lead and train team of Accounting professionals in timely and accurate execution of relevant processes
- Oversee and manage the General Accounting entries (such as Inventory, Fixed Assets, Accruals and Provisions entries) in SAP on a daily basis
- Review Intercompany balances as well as reconcile Intercompany transactions
- Execute consolidation of US subgroup
- Ensure the timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and year-end close based on internal as well headquarter (HQ) deadlines
- Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions
- Adapt accounting guidelines based on HQ procedures and IFRS updates
- Document internal procedures, assign direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy
- Lead Finance related audits, e.g. annual year-end audit
- Serve as main point of contact for HQ (Group Accounting), consultants and audit firm on any accounting issues
Additional Responsibilities:
- Self-driven to improve accounting entries and procedures
- Assist with System development and implementation projects
- Act as sparring partner for other business departments (e.g. IT) to ensure Finance compliance with the new processes
- Performs other duties as required.
Your profile:
- BS/BA in Finance or Accounting, MBA in accounting a plus
- 7+ years of professional accounting/finance experience required
- Proven knowledge of IFRS accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
- Experience in leading a team of professionals
- Knowledge of SAP (R/3) a plus as well as Concur or InvoiceLine
- Industry (Retail/WHS/eCommerce) is plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications (particularly excel)
- Must be able to work independently and take initiative, hands-on
- Detail oriented and enthusiastic
- Strong verbal and communication skills as well as project management skills
- Ability to multitask and work under deadlines

The expected base salary range for this position is from $120,000 - $132,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered.
