About the role:
Are you looking for an internship that provides hands-on experience in research publishing and the chance to make connections at one of the largest publishers of education and research content?
The Springer Nature Opening Doors internship, at Springer Medizin is a paid opportunity in Germany to gain experience in research and science news publishing in our journals, books or magazines. Many groups and perspectives are currently underrepresented in the publishing industry, which is a challenge that we are actively trying to address at Springer Nature. The successful applicant will spend up to 6 months at Springer Medizin division of Springer Nature. Two months of the internship will take place at the office of the Ärzte Zeitung in Neu-Isenburg. For the additional 4 months you will have the opportunity to work alongside our sales and marketing teams in our Berlin office.
Role responsabilities:
- Experience journalism for a well-informed specialist audience;
- Creating journalistic reports and interviews (including podcasts);
- Editing articles;
- Editorial management of one of the most up-to-date online media in the healthcare sector in Germany;
- Learning SEO techniques and social media;
- Planning, organising and producing newspaper editions;
- Attending background discussions and press conferences;

About you:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate programme, or be a recent graduate;
- Available to start in June 2024 for an internship of 6 months;
- Strong interest in research publishing;
- Fluent in German and English and have an existing right to work in Germany;
