In this role you will be responsible for leading Project Controlling team. You will in particular be responsible for implementing the future strategy and direction for the team, located in India, Poland and Mexico designed by Division CFO. You will coordinate PAEN processes execution and ensure stability and business continuity, lead the staff and act as point of contact for issues and escalations.

Your responsibilities

• In the beginning, this role will be an individual contributor role with hands-on responsibility to support 1-2 projects.
• Establish a standardized process for managing Project Controlling across varied projects (with different value threshold/risk level) and across different countries
• Define the framework within which project controllers will operate
• In line with the overall vision of the CoE and expansion plans & timelines, help set up the Project Controlling team across the globe
• Once the Project Controlling team is in place, lead Division team of project controllers and project analysts, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture, setting clear expectations and performance objectives.
• Develop and implement financial control procedures and policies for projects across the organization to ensure adherence to budgets and financial goals.
• Collaborate with project managers and executives to analyze the overall performance of the Global Project portfolio.
• Identify areas for improvement, allocate resources effectively, and make recommendations for portfolio optimization.
• Manage financial implications of project changes, scope adjustments, and contract modifications, and ensure these are properly documented and communicated.
• Monitor project financial performance, track costs, revenue, and profitability, and proactively address any deviations.
• Identify potential risks and issues that could impact project financial performance and develop strategies to mitigate and manage these risks.
• Establish risk assessment and contingency planning for projects, ensuring effective risk management practices are in place.
• Work with project managers to create project budgets and financial forecasts, and regularly review and update them to reflect changes in project scope and requirements.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to improve budget accuracy and overall project financial health.
• Oversee the preparation of project financial reports, including revenue recognition, cost analysis, and profitability assessments.
• Provide senior management and project stakeholders with timely and accurate project financial reports and dashboards.
• Continuously assess and enhance Project Controlling processes and tools to streamline and standardize financial management practices across all projects.
• Drive process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of project financial control.
• Ensure projects comply with internal and external financial regulations, standards, and audit requirements.
• Coordinate financial audits for projects, providing documentation and support as needed.

Your background

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (Master's degree or CPA preferred).
• 12+ years of experience in Project Finance, Controlling and accounting incl. leadership experience of running big teams
• Substantial experience in financial project control, with a track record of successfully managing Global Projects.
• Strong leadership skills, with experience in leading and developing high-performing teams.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
• In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards.
• Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and forecasting.
• Ability to adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced global environment and effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Fluent in English
