Engineering Manager - Process Automation

Manage a team of designers/engineers to deliver high quality, cost effective and timely engineering solutions to customers. Formulate plan, allocate resources to meet the agreed contractual and financial targets. Initiate, coordinate, drive and oversee team development and continual improvement of processes and procedures to strengthen the engineering and design capability. Strategical and organizational leadership.Electrification and automation control solutions for industries in the metallurgical - pulp and paper - cement - mining sectors at LATAM level including auditing, commissioning, engineering, training, among other activities

This position reports to

Project Operations Manager

Your responsibilities

• Development of integral projects for the industry, associated with power electronics (Power transformers. MV cells), direct and alternating current drives (in LV and MV), AC/DC motors, high performance control systems, protections, automation and control systems for various industries.
• Ensures development of performance targets in line with global/local targets and their achievement through regular oversight, defining required actions for improvement.
• Actively embraces and implements ABB Values, HSE, Integrity, Diversity & Inclusion and other people related strategies within the local engineering unit / team.
• Working closely with customers to shape and deliver technical solutions and utilizing feedback to deliver improvements and maintain customer satisfaction.
• Ensuring that the engineering team is adequately resourced and equipped, including formulating plans and allocating resources.
• Overseeing the completion of risk and opportunity assessments and implementing the resulting actions.
• Developing and driving continuous improvement to optimize processes, policies, and procedures.
• Working with the Procurement & Logistics team to ensure that appropriate suppliers, services, and equipment are available.

Your background

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering ( apostilled by Haya if issued abroad).
• 10 years of experience in similar positions. At least 3 years of experience as a leadership.
• Previous experience with industry projects, working with suppliers and customers.
• Knowledge of control and automation systems.
• Availability to travel locally and abroad.
• Availability to go to plan El Jaguel.
• Advanced English level.
