As 2nd Level Support Network Engineer, you will play a central role at RWE in operating the network in a future-proof manner for the entire Group at over 250 locations. We are looking for you and your expertise to implement the company-specific network architecture and strategy in order to continuously align the network landscape with the strategic goals of the Group together with internal and external partners and providers.
You will be part of the "Connectivity & Network Peripherals" department, which is responsible for the network and network security, including 2nd and 3rd level. The spectrum includes not only operation, maintenance and support, but also design, implementation and further development of the infrastructure on a project basis for the entire group.
- Joint responsible for the RWE network-services with high latency-, security- and reliability requirements
- Technical and methodical development and incident management for internal and external clients
- Implementing network-security-standards in compliance with existing processes
- Correspondence with different support-levels
- Preparation of Changes and execution support
- Drafting and reviewing of system documentations based on ITIL processes
- Management of external suppliers
- Support with configuration, maintenance and upgrade of systems
- Collaborative monitoring of systems and services
- Part of stand-by team
You will work with the following tools and technologies: Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Service Now, Tufin, Infoblox, Citrix, Azure und AWS.
Your powerful skills
- Completed IT apprenticeship or relevant university degree
- Efficient and diligent work attitude coupled with high commitment to quality
- Proactive self-education on industry trends
- Experienced in network management and confident in using reporting-platforms
- Proficiency in implementing and configurating IP-networks und Firewall-standards
- Know How in the area of LAN, WAN, WLAN as well as IP-Routing and Switching Protocols
- Basic Knowledge in services such as DHCP, DNS, Certificates, AD and authentication methods
- Determined team player with a strong analytical, conceptional and solution-oriented mindset
- Excellent German and English skills
Advantageous, but not a must
- Initial practical experience in the field of Automation (Phython, Ansible etc.)
- CCNA, CCNP Enterprise, NSE4 certifications
