Educate Group are currently working to support a range of high schools in the Flintshire area who need Teaching Assistants and Cover Supervisors and the demand for supply is extremely high!

If you have experience working with children or young people in any capacity and would like to transfer your skills into an education setting we would love to hear from you, as we have opportunities to work as a Cover Supervisor in various secondary schools across Flintshire

You will need to have the confidence to stand in front of a secondary classroom and maintain classroom behaviour, and ensure the pupils stay on tasks following the work set by the class teacher.

There is no teaching involved with this position, the main responsibility of this role is the management of the classroom. Good communication skills, and the ability to manage groups is essential.

The work available can be day to day supply but could lead to long term work and more.

Working as a Cover Supervisor can be demanding but also extremely rewarding.

Responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor:

• Supervise classes and deliver pre-prepared lessons in the absence of a teacher
• Ensure that students are engaged, motivated and on task
• Manage any behaviour issues that may arise
• Follow school policies and procedures
• Maintain accurate records of student progress

Requirements of a Cover Supervisor:

• A degree or Level 3 qualification with solid standards of literacy and numeracy
• Experience working or volunteering with children or young people
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to manage behaviour effectively
• A positive attitude and a willingness to learn
• Flexibility and adaptability

Registrations required to be a Cover Supervisor:

• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, but if you do not have one, you can apply for a new one through Educate.
• You must register with the EWC (Education Workforce Council) to work in Wales.
