Service Sales Engineer

Service is one of our fastest-growing areas in ABB, and due to our continued success, we have a newly created Service Sales Engineer job vacancy in the Motion Business Area to join our small, growing team based in Mt Wellington, Auckland. Join us as Service Sales Engineer and you will be responsible for the achievement of sales and business targets. Reporting to the Service Sales Manager, you will use your experience and drive to build long-standing customer relationships, identifying effective solutions for customer needs and growing the ABB’s market share within the specific industry segment.

Your responsibilities

• Implementing Service Sales strategy. Driving the channel strategy and the recruitment and positioning of service partners. Managing and utilizing installed base and developing digital offerings
• Achieving volume beyond installed base penetration by implementing digital and energy efficiency solutions. Securing recurring revenue through service agreements
• Ensuring achievement of Service Sales targets, providing cost-effective solutions to the customers and initiating improvement plans as needed
• Developing new market opportunities and generating Service Sales opportunities by identifying and exploring potential new service portfolios. Leveraging service product portfolios from Motion and other ABB businesses
• Establishing long-term customer relationships by understanding customer requirements, and applicable regulations and exhibiting high technical expertise in solutions and service products
• Selling entire service portfolio to expand ABB’s market footprint. Managing sales activities, prepares reports and statistics. Evaluating and sharing relevant installed base data, sales leads, customer and competitor intelligence, and market trends within the Motion Service team
• Supporting the Service Sales Manager on the marketing and communications activities for Motion Service products and solutions including digital and physical events
• Translating the needs of customers into relevant ABB Service offerings and solutions

Your background

• Degree qualified in a related field (e.g. Electrical / Electronics / Automation / Mechatronics engineering) with strong experience in Sales and Account management
• Technical knowledge of motors and drives, circuit breakers, EV chargers, and Industrial control applications
• Proven technical aptitude with knowledge of industrial processes and applications
• Experience working with direct and indirect sales channels
• Experience with digital / cloud-based services and applications
• Excellent communication skills, top-notch customer service, professional character, and good team spirit
• Well-versed in MS Office applications and CRM Systems (e.g. Salesforce)
