Your role
Forto is looking to appoint an exceptionally talented, experienced and ambitious Senior Legal Counsel for its Legal function to join an already highly accomplished team. The role is reporting to the General Counsel. We are seeking an entrepreneurial, hands-on senior lawyer who will provide strategic counsel to the whole organisation and take the legal support to the next level. This is a fascinating point at which to join a successful business, a strong brand, and IPO ambitions.
You will

• Provide strategic legal advice to senior management and other departments on a wide range of legal issues affecting the organization.
• Assess the legal implications of business initiatives, contracts, and policies – oversee and participate in the negotiation, drafting, and review of various contracts, agreements etc.
• Ensure that contracts align with the organization's legal and business objectives and propose risk mitigation strategies
• Partner with the whole company to further develop the vision of digitalization in contract management leveraging AI
• Lead material litigation cases managing outside counsel involvement
• Partner with the People & Culture organization and provide provide ad-hoc support on labour law and other employment-relevant subject matters
• Co-lead due diligence processes and provide legal advice for mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions or corporate projects.
• Interface and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders of all seniority levels, including executive management, regulators, courts, government agencies, and external Legal Counsel.
• Stay abreast of legal developments, industry trends, and changes in regulations that may impact the organization.
• Manage budget and related external spent with law firm
  

What you bring

• Fully qualified lawyer with 6+ years of relevant experience
• Experience in the logistics industry is a plus
• Strong passion for legal inhouse work
• Experience in, and a strong interest for, technology, big data and AI
• Excellent communication and coordination skills to interact with all departments across different countries as well as with external parties
• Ability to effectively and efficiently communicate with senior management and decision-making individuals within Forto Group
• Fluent in English. Fluency in German is preferred but not required. Knowledge and skills in other languages are a plus
