Medtronic is hiring an Integration system administrator and automation engineer. As an Integration System Administrator and Automation engineer, you will be a key member of our team to application infrastructure design, implement, and manage integration platforms that connect different systems and applications. Also, plays a critical role in ensuring efficient, automated, and secure integration processes within a dynamic IT environment. Your expertise in integration technologies, combined with strategic thinking and technical leadership, will contribute to the success of our integration projects and overall IT ecosystem. A Day in the Life
- Technical Expertise: Leverage your in-depth system administration and automation expertise in webMethods suite including Integration Server, Trading Networks, Universal Messaging, Broker Server, MWS, BAM/BPM, API Gateway, Enterprise Gateway, MFT (Active Transfer Server), webMethods.io, Informatica, ETL tools, Kafka and data transformation techniques to design and implement robust and scalable integration solutions.
- Solution Implementation: Oversee the implementation of integration solutions, ensuring they meet technical specifications, quality standards, and adhere to best practices. Provide hands-on technical expertise as needed.
- Troubleshooting and Support: Identify and resolve integration-related issues, ensuring the stability and reliability of integration solutions. Collaborate with application support teams to provide timely resolutions.
- Monitoring Implementation: Implementing monitoring solutions to track system performance and identify issues. Responding to incidents, identifying the root cause, and implementing solutions.
- CICD Implementation: Setting up and managing Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipelines. Integrating automated testing into the CICD process using GITLAB, Jenkins to ensure software delivery and quality.
- DevOps Practices: Collaborating with development and operations teams to bridge the gap and streamline the entire development lifecycle. Implementing and managing infrastructure for efficient and scalable platform.
- Automation: Continuously improving interfaces via automating test cases and adding the test suites to CI/CD pipelines. Knowledge on Docker, Gitlab penetration testing modules, quality testing, postman scripts will come handy in this role. Automating repetitive tasks and workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors. Scripting and coding to create automation scripts for deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Collaboration: Collaborating with development teams to understand application requirements and ensure smooth integration. Working closely with other IT professionals to align integration efforts with organizational goals.
- Solution Implementation: Oversee the end-to-end implementation of complex integration solutions, including the development of APIs, connectors, middleware configurations, and data transformation processes. Ensure solutions adhere to best practices and architectural standards.
- Upgrades and Migrations: Plan and execute upgrades to newer versions of WebMethods. Manage migration projects to transition from older versions to the latest releases.
- Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing: Provide mentorship and guidance to integration technologists and junior members of the team. Promote a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
- Performance Optimization: Analyze and optimize integration solutions for performance, scalability, and reliability. Identify and address potential bottlenecks and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Documentation and Knowledge Management: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including platform architectural diagrams, design documents, and integration patterns.
- Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging technologies, integration trends, and industry developments. Explore and recommend innovative solutions to improve integration processes, efficiency, and overall system performance.
- 9+ years of progressive experience in IT integration with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information technology, or a related field. or 8+ years of experience with an advanced degree.
- Proficiency in webMethods installation, configuration, and administration.
- Experience/ Knowledge with webMethods.io cloud platform.
- Participate in integration design activities, working with Solution Architects, Technical Leads, and peer Team Members.
- Proven expertise in integration technologies, middleware platforms, integration design patterns, messaging frameworks, and API management, ETL tools, data transformation techniques and ESB frameworks.
- Experience working with Real Time & Near Real Time integrations, including Message Oriented based message handling techniques.
- Experience with Cloud technology AWS including containers, Kubernetes, Docker and understanding of IaaS, PaaS and SaaS platform/Applications.
- Design and handle integrations using XML, IDOC, BAPI, EDI, Flatfiles, Java, webservices, API management, Integration cloud, Hybrid-Integration, Cloud streams.
- Experience /Knowledge in designing CI/CD solutions.
- Demonstrated experience with enterprise database technologies like Oracle, DB2, and MS SQL Server.
- Experience or strong knowledge of communication and data handling protocols (AS2, AS4, PGP/GPG, S/MIME, HTTPS, FTPS/SFTP/SCP/POP3/SMTP, Web Services/SOAP/REST, etc.)
- Experience/knowledge with Informatica and Kafka platforms.
- Previous Medtronic experience
- Master’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
- Experience in change management, as it relates to a culture and mindset of a complex organization including capabilities building, process design, ownership, and implementation.
