The Medtronic Digital Health organization is Medtronic’s technology team focused on next generation Digital Health capabilities which deliver on the Medtronic mission and vision to deliver Insight Driven Care. This role will operate within the Digital Health Applications & Interoperability subgroup of the broader Digital Health team, focused on patient engagement, care coordination, AI, healthcare analytics & interoperability amongst other advanced technologies which enhance our product portfolio with new services, while improving clinical & patient experiences.
We are looking for a Senior IT Developer, focusing on design, development, and DevOps efforts within this technology team to implement new capabilities and services supporting Medtronic globally.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

The Senior IT Developer will:

• Collaborate on architecture design and direction for the various application development projects and integrations services portion within the Digital Health organization, with a particular focus on front end development of responsive web & mobile application use cases supporting the patient & HCP digital experiences
• Ensure alignment of technical capabilities to the planned architecture & strategies
• Provide technical guidance, direction, and governance within the product team
• Hands on development and coding
• Participation in code reviews
• Support security & compliance efforts to apply necessary safeguards to Medtronic environments and data

Education Required

• Bachelor's degree
Job Experience

• 4-7 application development experience
NICE TO HAVE (Preferred Qualifications)

• Experience in Digital Health application development
• Experience implementing applications and data services built on best practices for security and compliance (HIPAA, SOC II, etc…)
• Familiarity with healthcare specific technologies and data formats such as HL7 & FHIR
• Experience with organizing and communicating with global teams
• Proven communication skills to technical & non-technical resources
• Experience working with Technical team members in a global model
• Good understanding of SDLC and/or Agile project management methodology
• Ability to work in a high pace environment amongst diverse operating units & products
• Ability to develop effective relationships with business users, technical staff and executive management
• Ability to combine strategic thinking with operational activities
• Fast learner with the ability to quickly master new applications and develop domain knowledge
• Strong client facing and presentation skills
• Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision in a high-energy and fast-paced environment
• Passion to contribute to high-quality services and solutions
• Team player comfortable to work in an international and culturally diverse team
• Must possess self-motivation, enthusiasm, and positive attitude and perform as a team player.
KEY SKILLS

Technical Expertise
1. Front end development experience based on React.js, Material UI
2. API & Microservices development in Python
3. Cross browser development & compatibility, including responsive mobile apps
4. Languages: JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS
5. Version Control: GitLab
6. Integration of front end components RESTful APIs (FHIR experience a plus)
7. Microservices architecture and development
8. Serverless Computing within AWS based environment
9. Security & Compliance best practices for sensitive data processing
