You will be working as Senior Embedded Developer and will be part of Motion Business Area for System Drives Division based in Bangalore, India. In this role you will be reporting to R&D Department Lead and will be working with the teams which are developing and validating shippable products for the India and global markets. You will also be a part of global R&D community spread across the ABB MOSD division.

Your responsibilities

• Embedded architecture, designing and development for our embedded gateway and control solution
• Collaborating with global/ local R&D and product management teams to develop world class products
• Demonstrating solid competency in embedded Linux, Networking, C++/C programming and design concepts
• Strongly collaborating within R&D community and alignment with agile software development principles
• Demonstrating strong commitment to quality culture in ABB R&D and having a mindset to take risk, share success and failures in the team
• Mindset towards innovative thinking and challenging the current situations
• Most importantly, living ABB’s core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business

Your background

• Bachelor’s / master’s degree in electronics, computer science engineering, or related field
• Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience in embedded SW programming on C++
• Must have strong experience in Embedded Linux application layer architecture, design and development and high performance embedded System Design and Development using C++ language
• Strong Expertise in Linux, Networking competence on Embedded Systems (minimum 6 years experience) and basic knowledge and at least 2 years of experience on C++, C++17, Python, Message broker (MQTT\Zero MQ), Yocto, OPC/UA, Kubernetes and Docker
• Expertise in Embedded System Integration, System verification and continuous integration and must have experience of Algorithms, Design Patterns and object-oriented design principles.
• Good knowledge in code Debuggers and computer networks
• Experience in Unit testing for the developed modules / components; working in Agile teams and strong understanding of agile ways of working and about CI/CD processes
