We are looking for a Senior DirectorGovernment Affairs, with focus on Digital Regulation who will support the Government Affairs teams globally with a focus on Germany and the EU. The ideal candidate
  • has a strong affinity to technology and a willingness to deep-dive into technology markets ranging from artificial intelligence (AI) to industrial data and additive manufacturing
  • understands the impact of changes in regulation on national and global technology markets
  • is responsible for engaging and partnering with policy makers on digital policy issues
  • understands and can assess geopolitical drivers and trends and their respective impacts on digital and manufacturing policies and regulation connected to Siemens

Your New Role – What You Will Do
  • You will leverage your profound expertise on Digital Regulation to shape an enabling ecosystem for the digital transformation of industry
  • To achieve this, you will provide regulatory foresight and work with internal stakeholders to develop policy positions on the regulation of technology markets, with a clear focus on digital technologies in the industrial B2B context
  • You will leverage your broad network to engage and partner with policy makers and the regulatory expert community from leading companies, academia and think tanks
  • You will use your sound (geo-)political understanding to assess the drivers, the content and potential impacts (risks and opportunities) of regulation and policy
  • You will represent Siemens interests externally in relevant policy fora and business associations
  • Ideally based in Berlin, you will work closely with other Government Affairs as well as legal, communications, and business functions in Germany, the EU and major global markets
Your Responsibilities
  • Research, anticipate and monitor relevant legislation, policy initiatives, and funding opportunities in Siemens Core Technologies, communicating their implications for Siemens’ business activities to your internal business partners, providing recommendations for decision-making and external advocacy
  • Develop national, regional and global best practices and general principles for Digital Regulation which serve as a coherent narrative across the company
  • Write policy briefings on Digital Regulation for Managing Board Members and expert functions (e.g. Technology, Strategy, Businesses) in preparation of political meetings and high-level events
  • Engage with policy makers to provide recommendations, shaping an innovation- and technology-friendly regulatory environment

Your Qualifications
  • You have an excellent university degree in economics, law, business, engineering, political sciences or in a related field of expertise. Expertise in regulatory economics, competition law or competition economics would be a plus
  • You have at least 7 years of professional experience in a relevant public or private environment (e.g., in national ministries, the European Commission, think tanks, in European industry associations or in relevant departments of a large company)
  • You have an astute understanding of market regulation, ideally regulation of technology or B2B markets
  • You have a proven track record of building trusted relationships with political stakeholders to shape a conducive regulatory environment for technology
  • You have demonstrated experience in compiling high level reports for top management in both German and English (C2 proficiency) with utmost attention to detail and quality
  • You have a passion for politics and a keen interest in technology and digitalization
  • You possess excellent written and oral communication skills
  • You have project management skills to drive initiatives, taskforces and deliver on tight deadlines
