We're seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to spearhead our infrastructure and DevOps initiatives while making significant contributions to API and LLM development. In this role, you'll be the driving force behind robust and scalable backend solutions, ensuring seamless service delivery.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Essential:

• Python Expertise: Proficient in Python, with an openness to other programming languages.

• Database Management: Strong experience in designing and managing relational databases, particularly Postgres.

• API Development: Skilled in building robust APIs, preferably using Python frameworks like FastAPI.

• Infrastructure as Code: Experience with IaC tools, e.g., setting up and maintaining Terraform, to streamline infrastructure management.

• CI/CD Proficiency: Proficient in constructing CI/CD pipelines, enhancing development processes and deployment strategies.

• Docker: Competent in using Docker for efficient containerization and deployment.

• AI-Backend Intersection: Keen interest in the intersection of AI and backend development, aiming to innovate and integrate AI capabilities.

Nice to have:

• Customer-Facing API Development: Experience in developing and maintaining customer-facing APIs, understanding the nuances of API as a product.

• Vector Databases Knowledge: Familiarity or experience with vector databases, enhancing data handling and retrieval.

• Kubernetes Management: Experience in managing Kubernetes clusters, ensuring scalable and efficient container orchestration.

• Google Cloud Platform Experience: Proficiency with Google Cloud Platform, leveraging its capabilities for enhanced backend solutions.

• Real-Time Application Development: Familiarity or experience in building real-time applications, ensuring dynamic and responsive systems.

• Data Engineering Skills: Experience with ETLs/data engineering, managing and transforming large datasets effectively.

• Compliance Knowledge: Understanding or experience in building SOC 2 compliant systems, ensuring security and trustworthiness.

• Curious & Quick Learner: You have a natural curiosity and the ability to quickly absorb and apply new knowledge across various domains.

• Proactive Leader: You assume full responsibility for projects, pushing through barriers to achieve objectives and deliver results.

• Collaborative Spirit: You find joy in mentoring others as well as learning from your peers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.

• Language Proficiency: Fluent in English, with no requirement for German.

• Location Flexibility: Based in Europe and open to relocating to Berlin or willing to start with a hybrid model to become well-acquainted with the team.
