Job Description

• Responsible for the fabrication and maintenance of specialized wiring harnesses, electrical/electronic assemblies, and fixtures for mechatronic actuators.
• Collects data using specialized equipment, control software, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems.
• Supports engineers with the diagnosis of the unit on test, as well as the complete experimental setup, to ensure operational efficiency and data quality.
• Supports engineering teams in the execution of test procedures, while collecting high quality data, using specialized equipment as per defined standard operating procedures.
• Supports engineers with the installation of test units onto test stands including mounting fixtures, instrumentation, and fluid or electrical connections.
• Supports engineers with the diagnosis and issue resolution for the unit on test, equipment control software, instrumentation, data acquisition systems, or facilities.
• Performs regular maintenance, replace parts, and request shop supplies.
• Maintains accurate records of unit on test, tests run, fabrication, maintenance, and part changes.
• Supports calibration/maintenance of test equipment for accuracy and ISO compliance.
• Uses the work order management system to prioritize and complete tasks effectively and efficiently.
• Performs all required tasks in relation to fabrication, equipment setup, operation, cleaning, testing, and process checks to ensure reliable and consistent functionality.
• Documents best practices for lab equipment and tasks; provide feedback to management of required training needs.
• All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

• Associate's or technical degree in relevant field.
• 3+ years experience fabricating, instrumenting, and maintaining specialized electrical wiring harnesses and assemblies.
• Experience with mechatronics actuators.
• Experience with fabrication on metals and composite materials.
• Familiarity with common testing equipment used in electrical/electronics laboratories
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
