Chief Engineer - Technical Key Account Management, Automotive (M/F/D)

In this position, you are responsible for the professional customer care and consultation of our automotive and Tier1 customers regarding our product portfolio, including on-site visits. As Chief Engineer at ABB Robotics, you serve as the interface between the customer and the ABB Robotics organization globally and locally, ensuring a detailed analysis of requirements for product-related software and hardware adjustments.You conduct feasibility analyses of customer requirements regarding functional, technical, and economic aspects. Furthermore, you coordinate and oversee the development and validation of projects in close collaboration with customers and our international production facilities.

Your responsibilities

• Provide professional customer care and on-site consultation for automotive clients regarding our product portfolio
• Act as an interface between the customer and the ABB Robotics organization (globally and locally)
• Analyze and detail requirements for product-related software and hardware adjustments
• Conduct feasibility analyses of customer requirements in terms of functional, technical, and economic aspects
• Coordinate and monitor development and validation projects in collaboration with customers and international manufacturing plants
• Collaborate with global and local Key Account Management, sales support, and manufacturer plants in Sweden, the USA, and China
• Examine customer requirements and technical specifications to create a product roadmap with global product management and R&D
• Support the market launch of new products with automotive clients

Your background

• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a technical specialist for mechatronic systems, in the field of development, product management, or a comparable position
• Advanced interdisciplinary technical expertise with a focus on mechanics and electronics, as well as software applications
• Strong customer and market orientation, technical foresight, and high problem-solving skills
• Experience in dealing with major customers in the automotive industry is desirable, knowledge in the robotics industry is advantageous
• A team-oriented, solution-focused working style, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills and interface affinity
• Capable in handling conflicts constructively and managing time effectively
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a comparable field
• Fluent in both German and English, with strong language proficiency
