Our Immunology Unit has a pipeline with depth and breadth and is renowned for its scientific talent and expertise. We are uniquely positioned to have a critical impact on bringing innovative medicines to patients across multiple disease areas.
The role will be part of an interdisciplinary team in the Immunology department of Biomedical Research working on inflammatory and autoimmune renal diseases. To help deliver on this team effort, we are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Research Scientist to support new Drug Discovery projects and contribute to the development and positioning of novel Novartis drugs in the renal space.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Work collaboratively with a focused team to develop novel project ideas.
• Develop and apply broad range of immunological and cell culture techniques
• Offer innovative, proactive approaches to scientific questions and troubleshooting efforts.
• Interpret experimental results and discuss scientific presentations in project team meetings.

What you will bring to the role:
• University degree (BSc, MSc) or equivalent qualification in Life Science discipline, preferably immunology, cell biology or nephrology.
• Expertise in broad range of immunological techniques: cell culture of human primary immune cells, co-culture of different immune and non-immune cell types, multicolor FACS analysis, ELISA and ELISPOT assays
• Expertise in handling complex cellular models in particular with renal cells is a plus
• Highly collaborative spirit, good communication skills, creativity, and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
• Scientific curiosity, initiative, commitment, flexibility, and good organization skills
• Fluency in English
