Our Group is part of the Buchmann Institute for Molecular Life Sciences and of the Institute of Cell Biology and Neuroscience, located at the Campus Riedberg. Our laboratory is affiliated to the Max Planck Institute of Brain Research in Frankfurt.
Our research focuses on the investigation of molecular signals that coordinate the development and homeostasis of the neurovascular interface. For this, we use a combination of state-of-the-art inducible and cell type-specific mouse genetics, together with confocal and two-photon light microscopy, electrophysiology, tissue explants, cell culture, proteomics and biochemical assays (see Nature Communications 6: 6576, Developmental Cell 28: 381-393, Neuron 84: 370-85, Nature 472: 356-60/478:274, Nature 465: 487–491, Nature Neuroscience 11: 1035-1043, Nature Neuroscience 10: 301-310, Science Vol. 361, Issue 6404).
We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with a scientific university degree (diploma or master) in Neuroscience or Cell Biology and a high degree of practical experience in laboratory work.
A high level of practical experience in the neuroscience field, with technical knowledge in immunofluorescence, confocal microscopy, molecular biology and cell culture is required. Additionally, background experience in experimental models of human diseases and also in the analysis of neurovascular unit cellular components is a plus. Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English language is required.
International scientific training and FELASA animal experimentation certificate are a plus, too.
