Job Description

Working in Risk

As part of our growth strategy, Statkraft is expanding its Origination activities across Europe.

Currently, we have long-term renewable energy portfolios of third-party contracts in various European markets consisting of tailor-made Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with generators and long-term sales contracts to large end customers. As well as other non-standard flexible and structured wholesale products.

Your role

As a Market Risk Analyst (m/f/d) and as part of Statkraft’s Risk Management team you will work on an independent assessment of Statkraft’s Origination and Market Access portfolios in Continental Europe. This includes in particular:

• Regular report on P&L and risks of the origination portfolio
• Studying the fundamentals of energy markets in which we operate
• Supporting our risk evaluation of transactions and deal structures prior to deal closure
• Contributing to the improvement of our risk analysis tool kit for renewable energy assets by means of Python

Qualifications

We look for a Market Risk Analyst with the essential skills to future-proof our business and renewable energy solutions. That includes:

• Advanced university degree in a quantitative discipline like Finance, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Engineering or Statistics
• Programming experience (e.g. Python, Matlab or R)
• Proactive team player with integrity and attention to detail
• Good communication skills and confident approach towards stakeholders
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken

This position is suitable for candidates with prior experience in energy markets or risk management, as well as talented graduates with an interest in renewable energy markets.
