Your responsibilities
Inhouse Management Consulting at RWE is a key enabler of our Growing Green Strategy. It provides full range of consultancy competencies across a vast array of business-critical energy sector projects. The RWE Consulting team is embedded within the wider Group Strategy division and leads projects for our Group and operating companies. Our focus is on top-priority projects for the company and our high-impact work ranges from strategy development to implementation. Therefore all projects are approved by the Management Board.
As the Head of RWE Consulting you are responsible for currently 16 Consultants on all seniority levels with up to 50% growth planned until end of 2025. RWE Consulting will continue to grow and you will drive the growth and strategic direction.

• Responsibility for the strategic planning and structuring of consulting projects of all sizes
• Planning the project capacity in the team and promoting the professional and personal development of team members
• Engage with senior stakeholders in the organization and originate projects and programmes
• Act as a trustful sparring partner to top management (incl. group wide Board members)
• Collaborate with the top management to discuss goals and objectives of projects and programmes and align them with the overall context of the company
• Manage and guide project leads and consultants in order to deliver successful project outcome
• Active part in the recruiting process and responsible for the individual development as Guidance & Development manager
• Responsibility for actively promoting the careers of ambitious and talented consultants and working closely with our consultants at all levels to chalk a career plan for them in the RWE Group
• Represent RWE Consulting to the outside world and drive important RWE Consulting internal topics

Your profile

• Completed university degree, MBA is strongly preferred
• Significant work experience in Management Consulting in a partner, principal or senior project manager role with responsibility for large, complex and international strategic projects relevant for the C-level
• Several years’ experience in leadership and track record in people development, ideally with experience in building and aligning teams
• Outstanding project management & presentation skills
• Strong working knowledge of business management best practices
• Detailed knowledge of general industry trends and market behavior
• Outstanding analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking as well as creative and strategic thinking skills
• Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively both verbally and in writing
• Confident communicator able to engage and build mutually trustful customer relationships across all levels in the RWE Group and within the Consulting team
• Mobile and open to take on selected assignments that require travel
• Openness and ability to drive change and implement it as a role model
• English language skills – business / professional fluency

Advantageous, but not a must

• Knowledge of energy sector and/or industrial sector
