Digital Innovation Telefonica is the area of Telefónica where magic happens, and we love hats }:) This area oversees develop innovation products around the world enjoying the journey. Open Gateway is the initiative of the GSMA to open the network capabilities to developers and Telefónica as a telecom company is working to make it real.  

You will have the opportunity to meet key leaders across the industry, and broaden your impact to the Telco community.

What will you do?

• Speak at conferences, meetups and internal to build Open Gateway Telefonica reputation around network APIs.
• Interface with open source communities to understand problems and trends in the market and influence new integrations for Open Gateway
• Be responsible of the content and strategy of the Developer Hub. Enhance the Developer hub, the web for developers that they can test the network APIs.
• Organize events for the community about Open Gateway
• Organize Open Gateway’s presence at events as speakers or as sponsors.
• Partner with product engineering teams to build compelling demos, and coach internal engineering teams on effective communication and presentation
• Create developer facing documentation, training materials and presentations for Open Gateway’s SDKs and APIs to foster the growth of our developer community
• Contribute to the product through feedback (bugs or product enhancements suggestions), documentation, or code
• Participate on the devrel strategy that we are building.

How will you do it?

Open Gateway has an area called “Go To Developers”. On this area there are two organizations. “Devrel Team” and “University and scholarship team”. You will be at “Devrel Team”. Your buddy will be Adrián Yuste and he will lead you through this journey. Your manager will be Laura Lacarra that you will have 1:1 frequently.

We organize with a Kanban. Every week we have a meeting to manage what task we will accomplish.

Your day by day will be open the Kanban, check what you are doing: a presentation, a documentation, an action on the developer hub and support with other areas to accomplish. You will have support with devrel team, product team, engineering team and marketing team. Design and videos are done by marketing team.

You may have to travel and to do a presentation around Spain.

When will you work?

This job offer is full day and flexible hours. We take seriously the conciliation.  We work for delivering and we thrust on how you organize yourself. As policy the meeting are from 10 am to 5 pm and we avoid meetings on Fridays. We normally go to the office on Thursdays when we have the Open Gateway meeting. Open Gateway Telefonica is around Spain. There is team base on Barcelona, Granada, Bilbao, etc. The Devrel team is based in Madrid. Full Remote will be considered.  

What are they asking for?

• You have publicly available writing samples, blog posts, demos, or recordings of presentations on technical topics
• Approximately 3+ years of experience as a software developer, SRE, or other practitioner, with strong experience in serverless computing
• Approximately 2+ years of experience in storytelling and creating compelling content e.g. written content, conference talks, leading workshops, live streaming or recording videos, contributing to open source, and participating in community events.
• You are fluent in reading and writing a language like Python, Node.js, Java, Go, .Net, Ruby
• You are fluent English reading, writing and speaking. Bonus points if you are good at Portuguese and German.
• You are expected to have very good skills in solving complex problems and creativity is your shield.
• You love to be a team player and have good communication skills. In your day-to-day work you will have to interact with several multidisciplinary teams and lead projects.
• Bonus points if you are already an active member of any software communities in your region
