1st Line IT Support Engineer

Germany – Gelsenkirchen

This will be an exciting opportunity to join a leading international promotional merchandise company in a key role developing its expanding business across Asia Pacific region.


Who we’re looking for:


A skilled and highly motivated, 1st Line IT Support Engineer, fluent in German and English, to work with our existing team, providing local and remote support across a multi-site global organisation. Someone with good communication and customer service skills able to communicate with staff members at all levels. You will be able to work well as a team or alone.


This is an exciting job role where you’ll be part of a fast paced, dynamic support team based in Europe, UK and USA, working for fast growing company offering great career prospects. The successful candidate will have a desire to go above and beyond, be flexible with out of hours working when needed and be able to travel occasionally.


Your areas of responsibility will include to;


  • Provide day to day support for our Germany offices and remote working staff
  • 1st Line Support of internal hardware and software systems including break/fix and scheduled maintenance
  • Assist our 3rd line engineers with upgrades and systems improvements
  • Assist our Business Systems Team in Supporting our ERP system
  • Assist with communicating with 3rd party providers, ISP, network and IP phone systems.
  • Provide local support for training new and existing systems
  • Support any Brand Addition customer requirements
  • Manage assigned helpdesk tickets
  • Work on projects alongside the IT Support Manager, Group Infrastructure Manager, Group Business System Manager, and E-Com Team Lead
  • Procurement of hardware and software through approved suppliers
  • Documentation of processes and procedures
  • Communication of any relevant information to internal staff

You will have experience and\or knowledge in the following areas


  • Microsoft Windows 10
  • Microsoft Office 365
  • Network cabling and patching
  • Active Directory user setup
  • Active Directory group management
  • Corporate Anti-Virus Management Packages
  • Mobile Phones

  • Networking protocols including TCP/IP
  • Data Backup Systems
  • Project management skills
  • VoiP Telephone System Support
  • Windows Networks
