Job description

  • Experience research: You perform design, modelling, and simulation of switched mode power supply (SMPS) topologies such as (multiphase) buck, boost, buck-boost topologies (with a focus on electrical and thermal behavior)
  • Shape the future: You develop and create schematics and PCB layouts of respective SMPS designs/evaluation boards/reference designs
  • Thorough planning: You support with evaluation and bring-up of proof-of-concept SMPS designs

Your Profile

  • Study field: You are currently studying Electrical Engineering or similar field of study
  • Experience: You have knowledge of power converter topologies and systems, e.g. (multiphase) buck, boost, buck-boost topologies, H-bridge inverter, multi-level inverter, solar power optimizer. Knowledge of embedded systems firmware/hardware development is a plus
  • Skills: You have experience with simulation and development tools such as MATLAB, SIMetrix, LTSpice, PLECS. You should also have experience with EDA/PCB design tools such as Altium or Cadence. Experience with bench test equipment such as power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes is a plus
  • Language skills: You have excellent English skills, both written and spoken, German is a plus

Important information:
  • Working part-time: The focus is on studies. Therefore, Working Student is possible during the lecture period with a maximum of 20 hours per week.
  • Proper students (according to the German law) are welcome: You must be enrolled and the examination results or modules of your studies must not have been completed yet, so that you can still work in our team for at least 6 months. You must also not be in a semester of leave.
  • You should live close to the site: It is important for us to work with you on site and to integrate you into the team. You should therefore be able to come to the site regularly.
