Working student (f/m/d) Backend Developer

Digital Business segment at Jenoptik aims to leverage the power of digital technologies to innovate and evolve new digital business models to generate value for Jenoptik and its customers in different business domains. As an intern, the position will work closely with the Software Architect and lead to optimize the existing IOT digital service platform at Jenoptik. The Key goal of the position is to assist in development and optimization of modern IOT based web-based applications, enabled using cloud infrastructure for providing digital service to customers of Jenoptik. The role requires technology prior exposure in Frontend Development or, preferably, Full stack web application development, effective collaboration with globally located team members, ability to transform ideas to great products with digital technologies, thereby keeping customer value and organizational profitability in focus

Primary responsibilities in context of digital product and service innovation are noted below:

• Participate in the design and implementation of feature rich IOT Web application using Cloud technologies
• Learn and incorporate industry best practices and technologies for web development
• Participate in all phases of development including design, development, testing and documentation
• Work closely with Software lead and architect for potential optimization of existing application

Your Profil:

• Ongoing Bachelor's/ Master's degree in the field of information technology/computer engineering or equivalent degree
• Ideally having hands-on exposure in back-end software development for web applications using containerisation tools (Docker, Kubernetes, REST APIs) and Cloud technologies (Azure/AWS)
• Knowledge of OOP/functional programming languages (Java/ Python/ NodeJS/ GoLang ) and backend concepts (Authentication, Authorization, Websockets , Async communication etc)
• Experience working with multiple relational/timeseries databases (SQL Server/PostgreSQL, etc.)
