Underwriting Assistant - Operations

Milan, Italy

Within the AXA Group, AXA XL is the P&C and Specialty Risk division, specialized in managing complex industrial risks. We offer insurance coverage and services for medium-sized companies and multinationals, operating in over 200 countries. Our team gathers the best talents to offer our customers an excellent service for each of our business lines: Property, Casualty, Financial Lines and Specialty.

Within the Operations department of AXA XL Italy, you will join the Middle Office team that aims to provide a high-quality service for our clients, creating and activating insurance coverage on complex risks. You will deal with brokers and clients of large companies, within an international dimension with the aim of solving contractual situations and every need of our customers at national and international level. You will have the opportunity to relate to all insurance departments from Underwriting, Finance and Claims, also communicating with our colleagues in other countries to activate insurance programs abroad.

What will your essential responsibilities include?

  • Check the conditions of acceptance of the customer's request, interacting with external subjects (borkers) and internal subjects (underwriters, network partners).

  • Be the point of reference for external and internal subjects, as well as colleagues abroad for the management of international customers. 

  • Monitor, plan and issue contractual documents, coordinating with your supervisor, your team and internal and external subjects of the Company. 

  • Manage and monitor the evolution of performance through the data provided by company systems, in terms of quality, speed and customer needs.

This position reports to Operations Team Leader, Italy

We are looking for someone who has these qualifications and skills.

 

  • Knowledge of insurance policy forms (Property and Casualty) and policy administration. Knowledge on managing global programs will be positively evaluated.  
  • Knowledge of insurance regulatory system; Awareness of compliance procedures & regulatory requirements. 
  • Focus on Customer: place the customer at the center of all decisions and actions. Leveraging technology and data, understand and anticipate customer needs and behaviors. Use empathic listening and formulate customized advice and solutions.

  • Able to work under his/her own initiative and manage priorities to meet tight deadlines.

  •  Communicate and work in Italian and English.

  • Work in team with people with different skills, expertises, from different places and cultures to achieve collective goals.

  • Adapt quickly to changes, show appetite for the unknown, learn in all circumstances
