Allow us to introduce ourselves
Hello there! We're Appinio, the fastest (and coolest) market research platform. On a mission to make the world a little more fact-based, we help companies understand how consumers think and make better data-driven decisions.
We started out in Hamburg back in 2014 but we're now humbled to call the world our playground, with over 200 employees spread across 25 cities (we're remote-first), 2000+ international clients and a panel reach of 7 million, globally.
Want to be a part of the Appinio movement? 🚀
Your Mission:
What you'll be doing:

- Leading a team of several smart and ambitious People Operations/Enablement Managers who will co-drive the mission of the team
- Own and further scale our international payroll processes in our active payroll markets (currently Germany, Spain, France, Portugal, the Netherlands, the UK, and the US) while closely collaborating with our employer of records partner.
- Support managers and senior leadership in their day-to-day challenges while giving them guidance and coaching on concrete People topics (and beyond)
- Partnering with the extended People leadership team on building holistic People approaches and frameworks that support our overarching employee goals, such as internal events, performance management, and engagement.
You will thrive in this role if:
- You have a degree in Business Administration, Economics, HR Management, or similar- or at least 5 years experience in the field.
- You have in-depth knowledge and passion about the "operational" side of People (however, you do want to challenge the status quo of the "HR admin" world"), such as onboarding and terminations
- You have in-depth international payroll experience, especially in Germany (US will be a huge bonus); as well as German employment law (ideally international knowledge as well)
- Ideally, you have at least 2 years of people management experience
- Ideally, you have some people partner experience where you supported managers/senior stakeholders on various matters
- You speak fluent German and you are ideally based in Hamburg, Germany (or at least 2h away from it, open to travel from time to time)
- You have a great sense of empathy, excellent organizational talent, and pragmatism
- You have outstanding communication skills as well as a proactive mindset
- You are an owner, you do not shy away from taking the lead in various matters while keeping your stakeholders in the loop
- You do not shy away from rolling up your sleeves while setting up scalable frameworks and processes.

- You have the chance to develop our amazing product from one of the countries where we operate: Spain, France, Germany, Portugal, the Netherlands or the UK
