The site in Visp, Switzerland is growing and for our Analytical Development team for mammalian products, we are seeking a Team Lead with significant work experience in biochemical methods such as ELISA and qPCR and a passion for analytics to join our Lonza talent community. Key responsibilities:
Lead the AD Mammalian Biochemistry team focusing on biochemical methods (ELISA, Gyrolab, qPCR, SPR, etc.), including recruiting, training, and mentoring your team members
Manage the project portfolio with an emphasis on the assigning work packages, coordinating available resources, and monitoring lab capacity under tight time and resource constraints
Support team members with the design of experimental plans, and data analysis, as well as review and approval of development reports (Provide strong scientific and technical leadership at project level.)
Foster the generation and collection of high-quality data, including performing data analysis and interpretation of results, as well as the creation of protocols, reports, and SOPs
Conduct investigations of unexpected results and troubleshooting in the laboratory
Collaborate within interdisciplinary project teams to perform various studies and provide scientifically sound solutions to complex problems.
Implement of continuous improvements and roll-out of new technical solutions
Key requirements:
Vocational training as a laboratory technician and extensive professional experience
or scientific degree in biochemistry, biology or related field and substantial professional experience
Previous work experience in analytical laboratories and/or in the industry with a focus on protein analysis (e.g. ELISA, Gyrolab, qPCR, SPR)
Ideally you already have experience in leading a team
Knowledge in method development is an added advantage
Good knowledge of English (spoken and written) is required, German is an advantage
