Staff Data Analyst (F/M/D)

The role

We are seeking a driven and ambitious Data Analyst to join our growing Data Analytics team, based in Berlin. Our team provides support across all teams like Product, Sales and Operations by developing insights and enabling analytical and automated decision making. We build strong partnerships with key stakeholders and work on challenges such as defining, implementing and tracking company-wide metrics, and leading initiatives to improve them

Our growth financing round of $50 million (€45 million) from February 2022 is helping us to scale our platform and add new data-based automation features for our rapidly growing customer base.

What you’ll be doing

Requirements gathering

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and define data analytical requirements that will help driving business initiatives
• Define KPIs, success and health metrics in the context of product and business initiatives

Data collection and preparation:

• Identify relevant data sources and work with data engineers and tracking experts to source the right data into the analytics environment
• Prepare data to make it suitable for the analysis in context

Data exploration and analysis:

• Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover patterns, trends, and insights
• Utilize statistical methods to extract actionable information from data
• Develop and maintain core data models to support business analysts

Experimentation

• Support stakeholders during the hypothesis formulation and validation phase
• With the collaboration of the data science and engineering teams, design and implement experiments around upcoming product features

Visualization and reporting

• Design and create effective data visualizations to communicate insights and trends
• Hands-on experience with traditional BI tools (Tableau, Metabase) and, ideally, product analytics tools (Indicative) as well

Communication and collaboration

• Communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and nontechnical audiences
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, data engineers, and product managers and decision makers
• Provide training and support to end users for interpreting and using data visualizations in a self-service manner effectively

What you’ll bring

• 5-+ years of relevant experience interpreting data as an analyst or equivalent
• High proficiency in querying and modeling data using Python and SQL
• Ability to translate a business question into an analytical requirement considering its context: what the business is trying to achieve, the processes around it, the systems that interact and the data points available
• Analyze the results of A/B-test experiments and derive conclusions or new hypothesis the business can follow up on
• Great communication skills in stakeholder management from diverse backgrounds
• Great communication skills in storytelling capable of creating a consistent narrative that gives meaning to the numbers
• Extensive experience using different data visualization and reporting tools
• Experience on analytics engineering using dbt is highly desirable
• Plus: experience with experimentation platforms (eg. ABSmartly, Optimizely) and product analytical tools (eg. Indicative, Amplitude)
