About the Role

Site Head (f/m/d), Drug Product Schaftenau
Drug Product Schaftenau is currently filling and packaging over 35 million sterile units annually in two different production sites. This makes it the center of excellence for aseptic manufacturing of difficult-to-produce molecules in the Novartis manufacturing network.
Further expansions at the site in Tyrol and in other sites are planned. It is an exciting time to join us and take over the lead of the site to reimagine medicine for the patients!
Your key responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Lead Biologics Drug Product Site to manufacture and supply high quality and value pharmaceutical products on time, every time, safely, environmentally sustainably and efficiently.
• Shape future direction of the manufacturing site based on overall strategy to ensure long-term competitiveness through highly effective management, maximization of productivity and leveraging technology / data & digital innovations.
• Build and continuously develop a high performing site leadership team.
• Foster an inclusive and constructive work environment in line with a curious, inspired, unbossed culture that attracts, engages, and inspires.
• Identify and implement specific strategies, best practices, and action plans to ensure performance and continuous improvements in line with the global business strategies.
• Ensure manufacturing and operational excellence through adherence to all necessary quality, HSE, ethics & risk and compliance as well as regulatory requirements.
• Establish and maintain strong relationship with both Novartis internal and external stakeholders, in particular build strong collaboration to work effectively as well as on time success of product transfers/launches/life cycle management and harmonization projects with local and global stakeholders.

Role Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
• University degree.
• English (spoken and written fluency); knowledge of German a plus.
• 10+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical industry with a minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership position in manufacturing with accountability for E2E performance – experience in Biologics sterile fill & Finish manufacturing is a plus.
• Entrepreneurial and operational excellence mindset.
• Strong business acumen.
• Proven track record of executing strategies in manufacturing environment.
• Leadership experience and proven constructive and inclusive leadership style.
• Strong understanding of biotech sector.

In accordance with Austrian law, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary as stated in the collective bargaining agreement. For this position the minimum salary is € 108,430.28 (on a full-time basis). The actual salary will be significantly higher, as we strive to maintain a competitive position in the market and consider your previous experience, qualifications and individual competencies.
