In Chemicals & Materials, OMV through its subsidiary Borealis, is one of the world's leading providers of advanced and circular polyolefin solutions and a European market leader in base chemicals and plastics recycling. OMV operates around 1,700 filling stations in eight European countries. In the Energy segment, OMV explores and produces oil and gas in the four core regions of Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, North Sea, and Asia-Pacific. Average daily production in 2022 amounted to 392 kboe/d. Its activities also include the Low Carbon Business as well as the entire gas business.

  • Provision of Well Delivery Assurance and performance recommendations during Well Engineering Process, Integrated Gate Reviews and Toll Gates in support of OMV Global Well Delivery.
  • Seek and coordinate technical support from other Well Delivery disciplines as required to support Well Delivery Assurance of OMV Global Well Delivery projects.
  • Verify consistent application of OMV policy and industry best practice to avoid/ minimize Well Delivery risk.
  • Lead ad hoc root-cause failure investigation.
  • Responsible for the Knowledge in Action lessons learn process and sharing of lessons learnt group wide.
  • Technically review both conceptual and detailed well designs and work programs (including business development projects).
  • Conduct and coordinate assurance at rig site and rig inspections.
  • Promote application of new technologies and develop and cultivate a visible Drilling Cockpit.

Your profile

  • Master degree/Diploma in Well Engineering (or similar) and at least 9 years of relevant experience in Well Engineering, including assurance and performance responsibilities.
  • Expertise in all technical aspects of Well Delivery including: hydraulics, torque & drag, directional drilling, anti-collision, BHA design, well control, casing design and performance drilling.
  • General understanding of rig audit and assurance.
  • General knowledge of completion design, stimulation, production technology and open hole/cased hole data acquisition.
  • General understanding of Well Delivery software including IDS and DrillPlan.
  • Flexible to travel internationally to OMV branch offices, for rig audits, for service vendor management and for industry conferences.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Fluency in English.
