Description
Currently, Meta Games is looking for an experienced Game Designer to create authentic pocket experiences for true esports enthusiasts with our core team based in Berlin.
Tasks
Tasks
- Designing game systems and progression mechanics, perfectly aligning them with the product vision and the company mission
- Doing hands-on game design work: creating prototypes, working with UI and Art department to visualise ideas, bringing ideas to the state of elaborate documentation, running user tests, collecting feedback and improving on the design accordingly
- Designing game systems and working closely with other designers to make sure that the overall design is consistent and seamless
- Collaborate with Marketing, Product Owner and Community Management to develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the preferences and expectations of our target audience, while keeping a strong grip on the project’s core values
- Team Up with the LiveOps department to make the game world dynamic, fun and authentic for the players
- Mentoring other Game Designers, sharing your experience and knowledge and helping them grow
Must-have skills:
- 5+ years of experience as a Game Designer in mid-core free-to-play mobile games. Shipped at least 2 mobile free-to-play titles in the Game Designer’s role
- Perfect understanding of best practices of mobile mid-core free-to-play core-loop building, progression systems and sessioning. You know how to hook, retain and engage your players
- Strong knowledge of the mobile games industry, being up to date on genre dynamics and latest trends and successes
- Data-driven: knowing how to uncover problems by looking at KPIs, getting insights from the community and applying your design skills to solve these problems
- Working with frameworks like MDA or PENS to develop a perfect understanding of your players’ needs and expectations
- Experience working with UI artists where you shape the UX of your features by creating wireframes
- Experience mentoring or leading other Game Designers
- You like sparring ideas with your peers, leaving egos at the door
- Excellent verbal and written English

- Experience in management and the desire to organise working processes within your department and across multiple departments
