For our client Neste we are searching a Senior Supply and Business Development Manager (m/f/d), Chemical Recycling in Düsseldorf/Germany or Espoo/Finnland.

The work model is hybrid, i.e. remote work is possible with a high degree of flexibility, however, on-site presence is necessary based on business or project requirements.

Neste is the world’s largest producer of renewable jet fuel and renewable diesel, as well as renewable solutions in raw materials for plastics and chemical industries. In addition, Neste is driving the development of chemical recycling to address the problem of plastic waste. Neste has set the goal to make its oil refinery in Porvoo, Finland, the most sustainable refinery in Europe by 2030 and focuses on renewable and recycled materials such as liquefied plastic waste as raw materials for the refinery.
Neste generates a revenue of €15 billion with approximately 5000 employees and operates production facilities in Finland, the Netherlands and Singapore.
Neste’s goal is to become the global market leader in renewable fuels and full recycling solutions and is committed to helping customers reduce their greenhouse gas emissions by at least 20 million tons per year by 2030.
The Chemical Recycling division is a fast growing, entrepreneurial team within Neste Renewable Polymers and Chemicals. Neste is committed to become a solution provider for chemical recycling of plastic waste and, by 2030, Neste has the ambition to process over 1 million tons of waste plastic to new plastics and chemicals. Working closely with liquefied waste plastics suppliers is an essential part of the strategy in ensuring Neste is one of the forerunners in this developing industry.

As a Senior Supply and Business Development Manager (m/f/d) you will create and develop new and existing relationships in the market among liquefied waste plastic producers, negotiate supply contracts, plan and oversee related operations and logistics. The role also includes close collaboration with various internal stakeholders throughout Neste. The Supply and Business Development Manager (m/f/d) will play a key role in driving sustainability and regulatory awareness through Neste’s supply base, along with bringing in in-depth knowledge and experience of markets and trade flows. In addition, you will be engaged in developing Neste’s strategy for liquefied waste plastic supply. In this role you will be in the frontline to shape a new industry.

Your Responsibilities

  • Supplier Relationships:
  • Develop and lead supplier relationships, including identifying, developing and maintaining relationships with key decision makers. Actively work to consitently increase the supply base
  • Develop supplier development roadmaps considering the impact on Neste
  • Strategic:
  • Develop and implement supply strategies
  • Drive regulatory and sustainability agendas in line with global and local policies
  • Operational:
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers to meet business/sales needs
  • Obtain accurate market information and perform analysis on liquefied waste plastic markets to provide insight on market trade flows and practices, including identification of future opportunities
  • Liaise and collaborate with multiple internal business units locally and globally
  • Continuously monitor the market, industry drivers and trends

Your Qualifications

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, environmental sciences or similar education
  • Proven commercial experience either in sales, supply management or business development
  • Knowledge in energy or petchem markets would be preferred
  • Strategic mindset, ability to understand the big picture and complex business concepts
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills, ability to manage complexity and to develop alternative routes and solutions
  • Experience in project management and leading teams
  • Advanced collaboration and negotiation skills
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, interpersonal skills, and a customer focused mindset
  • Fluent in English
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%
